jGibney,
A lot of monumental, exotic and cultural sight-seeing spots are abound in
Nigeria and in Africa in general
(a.) The National Museum, Art gallery, Theatre in Lagos.
(b.) The Ife city, where the Oduduwa, a Yoruba race originates from, with
her cultural actifacts.
(c.) The benin cultural city, the ancient Benin Empire.
(d.) The Osun town with it's annual festivals.
(e.) Jos Plateau, a tourist city blessed with natural sites and African
ecological zoo.
(f.) Kano, the premier Housa city.
(g.) Nri, the premier Igbo home.

There are many other african cultural cities that will interest a tourist.
Like you defined in your site, a tourist must be guided by a host, to avoid
extotion, deceit and even being killed.
Tourist should explained to his host his purpose of visit, so that the host
will make preparation before his visit. They should exchange emails and
calls, especially when the host should be at the airport.
I once missed a tourist from Ohio simply because of lack of communication.
He came and left without fulfilling his purpose of visit.
The tourist must authenticate the personality of his host and vise versa,
before giving or acceptingan invitation.
I also suggest you use the Yahoo! messenger to instantly snd this message to
all online email list of tourists operators for subscription online. Then
wait and see how your site will be begin to boom tourism all over the world
You'll indeed be filling the missing links, that are retarding tuorism.
Congrats!

Tony.

Adopt-A-Tourist

Angela and I, during our travels have encountered travelers from all over the world, who were concerened about traveling. Like the lady we met on a curise, who had gotten Legionnaires in England and had to come up with over $1500 cash, no credit card, to return to the US to be treated. Or a man, whom we met during a trip around South America. The next day he was dead. He was traveling alone. We have had problems like bad water in China and bad food in Mexico. But, nothing as serious as the above. When we travel we like to have someone at home know where we are. But, wouldn't it be great to have someone wherever you go that you know and if disasters like needing a doctor, a dentist, help with visas, or just someone to meet you at the airport, train station or bus depot. After 9/11 it got Angela and I to thinking on how this might be done. So, we started Adopt-A-Tourist to address these issues. We still are going to go to many areas where there are serious problems, but we would like to know someone there. Adopt-A-Tourist is still in its infancy. So, if you have any ideas on how we can make it work so that we will have a safer and more friendly world, please email us at: ahunter100@juno.com. We realize that it's only when people meet one on one that they will accept one another. Angela and I enjoy traveling, but most of all it's the people that make all the difficulties of traveling worthwhile.

Happy Health and Happiness
